Carlos Sanchez Alonso est né en Espagne en 1963. En 1989 il est diplômé de la BBAA, Université de Madrid. Professeur d’analyse des formes en architecture de l’Université Alfonso X El Sabio (Villanueva de la Cañada, Madrid) , Professeur de Techniques d’ Expression et Représentation des Cours d’Architecture d’Intérieur du Département de Construction de l’Université Polytechnique de Madrid ; Carlos Sanchez se concentre aujourd’hui exclusivement sur son travail d’artiste sculpteur. Carlos Sanchez a fait plus de vingt-trois solo show, a participé à de nombreuses expositions collectives et a reçu divers prix et bourses pour son travail. Il a également exposé à l’international en faisant divers salons d’art : Londres, Bruxelles, Miami, New-York, Madrid…
Carlos Sanchez Alonso was born in Spain in 1963. In 1989 he graduated from the BBAA, University of Madrid. Professor of Form Analysis in Architecture at the Alfonso X El Sabio University (Villanueva de la Cañada, Madrid), Professor of Expression and Representation Techniques at the Interior Architecture Courses of the Department of Construction of the Polytechnic University of Madrid; Carlos Sanchez today focuses exclusively on his work as an artist-sculptor. He has done more than twenty-three solo shows, has participated in numerous collective exhibitions and has received various prizes and scholarships for his work. He has also exhibited internationally through various art fairs: London, Brussels, Miami, New York, Madrid.
Le travail de Carlos Sanchez Alonso traduit une véritable capacité de transposer plastiquement les résultats de ses recherches. Ainsi, chaque œuvre est un défi en soi, articulé autour du thème architectonique de la forme-espace. Rationalité et intuition se répondent dans chaque sculpture et concourent à l’exploration des volumes et des transparences, de l’expansion des corps dans l’espace, de l’incidence de leur opposition ou de leur association. Chaque œuvre trouve sa propre raison d’être. Il en découle son souci de la tectonique et des superpositions, qui imposent que le spectateur approche chaque sculpture sous divers angles et points de vue. Son œuvre est lisible à 360°. Les oeuvres semblent, sans équivoque, imprégnées de l’expérience et de l’enseignement de l’architecture. l’expérience professionnel de Carlos Sanchez Alonso, loin de s’opposer à son parcours de sculpteur, réussit à se fondre dans une synthèse harmonieuse et de portée majeure pour l’ensemble de son oeuvre.
The work of Carlos Sanchez Alonso expresses a real aptitude at transposing the outcome of his research in a plastic way. Thus, each work represents a challenge in itself, articulated around the architectonic theme of the form-space. In each sculpture, rationality and intuition enter a dialogue, adding to the exploration of volumes and transparencies, to the expansion of bodies in space, and to the impact of their opposition or association. Each work finds its own raison d’être. As a result, his concern for tectonics and overlays require the onlooker to consider each sculpture from various angles and points of view. His work is readable at 360 °. Unequivocally, the works seem imbued with the artist’s experience of architecture and the teachings he took from it. Carlos Sanchez Alonso’s professional experience, far from contradicting his career as a sculptor, succeeds at integrating a harmonious synthesis of major significance for the whole of his work.
